Linda van Deursen is a graphic designer.
Together with Armand Mevis she established the graphic design studio Mevis & van Deursen in Amsterdam in 1986. They have worked for cultural clients in the Netherlands and abroad. They produced identities for institutions and events such as the Temporary Stedelijk at the Stedelijk Museum and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, The International Architecture Biennale of Rotterdam and Venice Biennale of Architecture in 2010. They also designed the identity for Dutch fashion designers Viktor & Rolf.
Next to that they worked on numerous book for artists, photographers, architects and fashion designers such as Aglaia Konrad, Carlos Amorales, Ryan Gander, Rineke Dijkstra, Geert van Kesteren and Alexander van Slobbe and designed catalogues for shows such as "In and Out of Amsterdam" at the MoMA in NY.
Their work has been shown in museums and educational institutions throughout the world and is documented in the book Recollected Work: Mevis & Van Deursen, published by Artimo in 2005. They were awarded the Amsterdam Prize in 2009 and the Grand Prix at The Brno Biennial in 2012.
Linda van Deursen served as head of the graphic design department at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam from 2001 till 2014, where she also taught since 1991. She was appointed critic in the graphic design department at Yale School of Art in 2003.
