As a spin-off of her PhD research, Maya Rasker developed a course on the possibilities and intricacies of the humble and generous footnote.
Can we write about our art practice, merging artistic insights and theoretical references, in an imaginative way? Can ‘theory’ be treated as a friend? Rasker raises questions about the conventions in critical writing, and proposes new spaces to experiment with referencing, to the use of footnotes, and to the application of fictional elements – above as well as beyond the ‘dividing line’.
